Conveniently reorganised files

A couple of months ago I put some effort into uploading all my photos to Google, and arranged everything into annual albums. Today I re-downloaded the whole lot from Google Photos one album at a time.

If you click on one of your album icons there's Download option in the 3-dot menu. It will download a zip file of the album's contents.

So basically, I have a suite of photo archives organised per year which I've now scurried away onto my local backups.

It saved time faffing around with commands or file manager dragging and dropping.

I have three main folders now on my computer. GoogleDrive, GoogleMusic and GooglePhotos where everything is backed up.

"But why are you keeping local copies of all your data when it is safe and secure on Google's servers?!"

Good point, Google's security and backup budgets are bigger than mine. Just call me old fashioned and we'll be done with it :-)
