Simple Technology is Best

I had an urgent need to deal with some documents today, printing off some, sending out others and making additional copies of others. I won't go into the boring details of what/why.

For some reason I don't get on well with printers, but my old Epson XP-312 easily stepped up to the job today.

Printing.... easy.

Scanning a couple of documents.... easy. Open "Preview", select import form scanner, and boom,  I have a fresh new PDF ready to send out.

Technology is at its best when it lets you get on with the job, it doesn't get in the way.

Strikes me as funny when people describe Apple's MacOS as a 'toy' operating system. It's Unix! Proper unix lineage too, not some penguin-shaped knock-off (no trolling, I'm a linux fan).

No looking around for software,  no sitting around waiting for system updates, power on, do what has to be done, then go. I'll take a 'toy' o/s any day.

Because when I've finished work I don't want to spend the evenings doing IT support at home.
